Every player places a minimum stake called the boot into the pot before cards are dealt. At x 555, the boot starts from Rs 200. This is your entry cost for the round.

The Joker Card

The dealer draws a single card and places it face up in the centre of the table. This is called the Joker or the game card. Everything revolves around this single card for the rest of the round.

You bet on which side will receive a card matching the Joker's value — Andar (left/inside) or Bahar (right/outside). The odds are nearly equal, though the first card traditionally goes to Andar, giving it a very slight statistical edge.

Cards Are Dealt Alternately

The dealer alternates placing cards face up on Andar and Bahar. Cards are drawn until one side receives a card with the same value as the Joker — any suit is fine, only the value must match.

Choose Your Bet

You bet on Player, Banker, or Tie before any cards are dealt. That is your only decision in Baccarat — everything else is handled automatically by the rules. Player and Banker both pay 1:1 (Banker minus 5% commission). Tie pays 8:1 or 9:1 depending on the table.

Two Cards Each

The Banker and the Player each receive two cards. Card values: Aces = 1, 2–9 = face value, 10/J/Q/K = 0. Only the last digit of the total counts, so a hand of 7+8 = 15 = 5 in Baccarat.

Natural Win or Third Card

If either hand totals 8 or 9 (a "natural"), the game ends immediately. Otherwise, strict drawing rules determine whether the Player and/or Banker receive a third card. You do not control this — the rules are fixed.
